YSRCP MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy has been arrested by the Andhra Pradesh SIT in connection with the state’s liquor scam. The arrest happened on July 19, 2025, after he appeared before the SIT in Vijayawada for questioning.
Police officials issued a notice to Mithun Reddy and questioned him for nearly seven hours. After the questioning, he was taken into custody. His family was immediately informed about the arrest.
Mithun Reddy is named as A4 in the liquor scam case, which involves alleged corruption and misuse of power during the previous government’s term. The scam reportedly includes changes made to liquor policies and illegal financial dealings through shell companies.
The SIT had already issued a lookout circular against Mithun Reddy earlier to prevent him from leaving the country. The Supreme Court recently denied his anticipatory bail and refused to give him time to surrender.
Officials are now preparing to present him before the court, and a decision on his judicial custody is expected soon.
The investigation continues, and more arrests or legal actions may follow as the case progresses.
