The first look of Suriya’s Karuppu, has been unveiled, and it makes a lasting impact. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film introduces Suriya in a fiery, never-seen-before avatar that instantly grabs attention. Breaking away from his usual comic capers, Balaji steps into grand territory with this intense and culturally rich action drama.

In the first look poster, Suriya strides through a vibrant folk procession, dressed in a traditional black lungi and shirt. A cigarette dangles from his lips, while the backdrop of masked performers and traditional drums adds a ritualistic, almost divine atmosphere. This first look paints Karuppu as a celebration of folklore and fury.

Named after the fierce folk deity Karuppusamy, the title signifies themes of justice, divine rage, and protection—hinting that Suriya’s character may embody the spirit of a guardian or enforcer.

The film also marks a long-awaited reunion between Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, coming together on screen after nearly 20 years. Backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, this is touted as one of the banner’s most ambitious and expensive ventures to date.

With Sai Abhyankkar composing a music, GK Vishnu cranking the camera, and Kalaivanan in charge of editing, Karuppu boasts a technically strong crew working in sync to deliver a visually arresting experience.
