Nara Rohith changed his style and has done an out-and-out slice-of-the-life entertainer Sundarakanda, helmed by Venkatesh Nimmalapudi. As shown in the teaser, Nara Rohith’s role will be completely entertaining as a mid-30’s unmarried guy looking for a life partner.
Of late, it has been tough for any movie to secure even decent digital offers, especially for small- to medium-budget films. However, Sundarakanda has struck solid business deals. The popular streaming platform HotStar acquired the OTT and satellite rights for an impressive 9 crore.
Interestingly, the deal was finalized after the representatives watched the movie and were impressed with the outcome. The film successfully passed through three stages of evaluation, with separate screenings starting in February, and secured the required marks to receive the green signal.
The Hindi dubbing and audio rights fetched its makers another 3 Cr. In total, the makers received 12 Cr, through non-theatrical deals.
This solid business is a positive sign before the release. The movie bankrolled by Santhosh Chinnapolla, Gowtham Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankalli, will release in theatres on August 27th.
