With Baahubali, SS Rajamouli opened the gates for pan-India films, which have become a trend over the last decade. By winning the Oscar with RRR, he has also opened the gates for Indian films to reach international standards. Now, many films are following the route and are shaping up as international-level features. Here’s a look at them.

1. Ramayana

This is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in lead roles. Going by the words of producer Namit Malhotra, this movie is being made with a budget of a whopping 4000 crore rupees, which makes it expensive than many blockbuster Hollywood films. The first part of Ramayana will hit the screens during Diwali 2026, while the second part will release during Diwali 2027.

2. SSMB 29

After RRR, Rajamouli is planning to take Indian cinema a step further with his next SSMB 29, featuring Superstar Mahesh Babu. Touted to be an action-adventure set in a forest backdrop, this movie features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in other main roles.

3. Spirit

Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga are teaming up for a cop action drama titled Spirit. Reportedly, this film features Korean actor Don Lee as the antagonist. The makers have already announced the film will also release in Korean, Japanese, Mandarin and English apart from the Indian languages.

4. Allu Arjun – Atlee Project

After the humongous success of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun joined forces with Atlee for a high-budget film, bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Rumours suggest that Allu Arjun will be seen in three roles in this film, and Hollywood actor Will Smith will play the antagonist. The likes of Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen as female leads.

5. NTR – Trivikram Project

Recently, it was announced that NTR and Trivikram will soon team up for a mythological epic based on Lord Karthikeya. The makers are reportedly considering the title “God of War” for this movie. Producer Naga Vamsi already stated that this film will be made on international standards and will release in global languages.

6. Aamir Khan – Lokesh Kanagaraj

Next year, Aamir Khan and Lokesh Kanagaraj will join hands to make a superhero film which will have an international release in multiple languages.
