Star actress Shruti Haasan said that during the early stages of her career, when she was trying to establish herself across three film industries, it was the Telugu film industry that gave her the first taste of acceptance to grow as an artist.

She stated that Tollywood was extremely supportive of her and also financially lucrative. This isn’t the first time Shruti has expressed her gratitude towards the Telugu industry and its audiences; she has spoken about it in earlier instances as well.

In a recent interview, Shruti said, “In the beginning, I was really trying to find my feet in three industries, and the Telugu film industry was extremely helpful, very lucrative financially, but most of all, they gave me my first taste of acceptance and freedom to grow as an artist.

There was always a stigma around it for being commercial. But I never saw it as a bad word. I saw it as a great word because stardom gives you the power and freedom to move into places and make decisions that I am able to live with today.”

Shruti had most of her successful films in Telugu. She had her first blockbuster in the form of Gabbar Singh. Later, she was seen in many superhit films like, Balupu, Yevadu, Race Gurram, Srimanthudu, Premam, Krack, Vakeel Saab, Veera Simha Reddy, Waltair Veerayya and Salaar. Shruti was recently seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller, Coolie.
