Megastar Chiranjeevi grandly celebrated his birthday yesterday. The fans are also happy with the flying updates about his upcoming films. Some fans also witnessed the re-release of Stalin in theatres as part of the birthday celebrations. But the film’s re-release did not attract as much traction as other re-releases are generating.
Stalin, directed by AR Murugadoss, is a failure at the box office. The film is a proper commercial action drama which featured Prakash Raj, Khushboo, Trisha Krishnan, Urvashi Sarada, and others. The film also conveyed a powerful message about helping three people and encouraging them to help three more, all without expecting any gratitude. Had it been implemented in society, the impact would have been phenomenal.
However, the fans also could not embrace this film in theatres as much as they enjoyed Indra and other re-releases of Chiranjeevi. There could be many reasons for the same. For sure, the theatrical hungama in Tollywood is poor at the moment, and Stalin is not the correct film that would fit in at this time. It is not a crowd-pulling film, which has its own flaws.
Moreover, Stalin’s audio album is a hit, but only a few songs trend online these days. Many new generation audiences also watched the film after the interval sequence, and some other action sequences went viral on social media in reels and shorts. So, there is no new audience to watch the film in theatres.
Additionally, the fan moments in the film are abundant, but they are not as impactful as the other scenes from other films. Even today, people would want to skip some scenes in the film, and hence, they may not be inclined towards enjoying the film fully in theatres.
Moreover, the promotions for the film’s re-release are also minimal. AR Murugadoss who had been promoting Madharasi also did not speak about this re-release in any interview. Nevertheless, there are too many reasons as to why Stalin did not receive a great reception at the theatres.
