Anushka Shetty is set to astonish as Sheelavathi in the upcoming flick Ghaati. Directed by Krish on First Frame Entertainment and UV Creations, the movie is slated for release on the 5th of this month.
The starlet, who made her debut with Super, recently completed a 20-year journey in the film industry, making Ghaati an especially meaningful project for her. “It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since my first film Super was released. Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful,” she shares.
Anushka is thrilled to reunite with director Krish after their successful collaboration on Vedham. “I’m immensely grateful to Krish, not just for Saroja in Vedham, but also for Sheelavathi in Ghaati. Both characters challenged me in ways I hadn’t anticipated, and I feel lucky to have been trusted with such layered roles. Just as Saroja became a memorable part of my journey, I truly believe Sheelavathi will strike a lasting chord too.”
She also recalled how the journey of Ghaati began. “There was a time when Krish mentioned the idea of a Vedham sequel, and I remember eagerly following up on it. He said it needed to take its own course. Then, last Dussehra in 2023, he reached out with a fresh storyline for Ghaati, and it instantly excited me.”
Anushka made an intriguing remark about a possible crossover film featuring Sheelavathi and Allu Arjun’s iconic character Pushpa. “It would be thrilling to see a crossover between Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and my Sheelavathi from Ghaati,” she said with a smile.
The actress also assured fans that she will continue to take on strong, content-rich roles in the future.
