Globetrotter is the working title of SS Rajamouli’s next film with Superstar Mahesh Babu. Planned on a massive scale with shoots in multiple international locations, the film is eyeing a tentative worldwide release on March 25, 2027. A major part of the story takes place in forests, and Africa has been chosen as the key backdrop.
The shoot in Kenya is already underway. Nearly 95% of the African portions are being filmed there. Famous locations like Masai Mara, Naivasha, Samburu and Amboseli are being used. Around 120 crew members are working on this schedule.
During this time, Rajamouli met Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. The minister praised the director and made a key announcement. In a tweet, he revealed that Globetrotter will release in 120 countries. This makes it the widest release ever for an Indian film, going beyond the benchmarks set earlier by Bollywood titles like Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Pathaan, and Vikram Vedha, which were promoted with wide international outings.

The project, also called SSMB 29, is being kept very secret. The makers have not shared any posters or teasers so far. Even on Mahesh Babu’s birthday in August, no update was given. Later, the team confirmed that the first glimpse will be out in November 2025. There is also talk that Hollywood director James Cameron may unveil the first look when he visits India for Avatar: The Fire and Ash promotions.
The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in important roles. KL Narayana is producing it under the Durga Arts banner, and MM Keeravani is composing the music.
Rajamouli has already taken Indian cinema to world audiences with films like Baahubali and RRR. With Globetrotter, he is aiming even higher. For Mahesh Babu, this will be his first global launch on such a big platform. If things go as planned, Globetrotter could become a landmark film for Indian cinema across the world.
