Rocking star Manchu Manoj made a comeback to acting in Bhairavam, which was released this year. Since it is a remake film, featuring two other actors, Manoj did not get the full potential to put up a strong show. However, he was criticised for his exaggerated dialogue delivery and unnecessary modulations. But in a few months, the tables turned around, with Manoj gaining appreciation for his role in Mirai.

Manoj played the antagonist as Black Sword in Mirai, which was released yesterday. Fighting Teja Sajja, Manoj put up a great show on the screen, working on his flaws and finally delivering a great performance. Manoj tried to avoid his over the top acting as well as hammy acting. It is going to boost his career big time.

Manoj has reached a point in his career where he want to explore more opportunities and wants to be versatile. In both Bhairavam and this one, Manoj played characters with negative shades. Mirai is a full blown antagonist role. Manoj is proving himself to be a successful villain and if he gets more acceptance, he can unleash himself into playing a full fledged villain in more Telugu films.

Tollywood currently lacks stylish Telugu speaking villains and Manoj can fill this vacuum like how Jagapathi Babu once filled the villain vaccum when he started his second innings with Legend.

Manoj signed a film titled What The Fish where he plays the lead protagonist but the progress of the film is kept under wraps for now.
