Deepika Padukone has been in the news again after the makers of Kalki 2898 AD announced she will not be part of the sequel. The team said, “After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. A film like Kalki 2898 AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

It has been two days since the announcement, and Deepika has not directly responded to it. Instead, she shared her first Instagram post after the news, showing she joined the sets of King, starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Siddharth Anand.

In the caption, she wrote about a lesson she learned from Shah Rukh Khan during Om Shanti Om nearly 18 years ago: “The experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success. I couldn’t agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I’ve made since.” Many see this as her way of talking about the experience and the team she works with, rather than the success of a film, reffering to Kalki 2898 AD.

This is not the first time this year that Deepika has left a big project. She earlier exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, another Telugu film starring Prabhas. In both cases, she has chosen not to speak publicly about leaving the films.
