In a shocking incident, an actor who played a prominent role in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year has been arrested at Chennai International Airport for allegedly smuggling 3.5 kgs of cocaine worth approximately Rs 35 crore. The actor’s name has not been revealed by the police.

As per the reports, the actor was arrested in the wee hours of Sunday (Sept 28), when he landed in Chennai from Singapore. During a routine checkup, the cocaine was found hidden inside a false compartment of the actor’s trolley bag. The drug bust was reportedly part of a coordinated operation between Chennai Customs and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).

The authorities recovered several plastic pouches containing white powder at the bottom of the bag. The substance was confirmed to be cocaine upon testing. The actor was allegedly smuggling the drugs from Cambodia to Chennai, via Singapore. Apparently, the actor had planned to deliver the drugs to a drug peddler, who may later transfer it to Mumbai and Delhi.

The actor is said to have played supporting roles in several Bollywood films, including Student of the Year. He reportedly told the investigation officers that he was tasked by strangers in Cambodia with handing over the bag to a courier in Chennai. Further investigation is underway to unearth more links related to the smugglers.
