After the huge success of Kantara, everyone expected the prequel, Kantara Chapter 1, to have strong advance bookings. Usually, films with a hit first part sell tickets worth ₹50 to ₹100 crores worldwide before release. But this film is seeing much lower numbers.

Kantara Chapter 1 stars Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah. It is directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film will release on October 2, with paid premieres on October 1.

The original Kantara was made on a budget of 16 crores and earned over 350 crores worldwide. But the prequel is not attracting the same excitement. Worldwide advance bookings are reported to be under 20 crores. Even the paid premieres, which usually draw fans eager to watch early, are not showing strong numbers.

Industry sources say the low bookings may be because of limited promotions. Only one song has been released, and the trailer did not create much buzz. The makers relied mainly on the fame of the first part. They also said that Rishab Shetty, who is also the director, was busy finishing technical work and could not focus fully on promoting the film.

Despite slow advance sales, the film is expected to do well after release. Positive word of mouth and the popularity of the Kantara brand may help attract audiences and boost box office collections once the film is out.
