Nepotism in film industry is one recurring topic which often sparks widespread debate because many artists from illustrious families in both Bollywood and South Indian film industry have made it easy to carve out a niche on the silver screen due to their background. Despite getting benefitted from the perks of being a ‘Nepo Kid’, not many openly admit this fact. However, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, who also fall into the same category, seem to be an exception for this.
During his recent media interaction, Ranbir Kapoor candidly acknowledged that he is a product of nepotism and also admitted that he is aware of the perks of being born into a film family. He, however, feels that lineage would never guarantees success. The fourth generation actor of the popular Kapoor’s family further stated that he had to develop his own approach and prove his calibre over time to sustain in the film industry.
The Brahmastra actor also added that he need to work hard and carve out a niche for himself or else he would not succeed in his career. He also confessed that while people celebrate success of his family, there are many failures too. He said he grew up watching music directors, singers and lyricist come to his house to create songs for grandfather Raj Kapoor’s movies.
On the work front, Ranbir is currently busy filming for the much anticipated epic ‘Ramayana’ and another film ‘Love and War’.
