No matter how modern or open a family may be, it is quite common for parents to feel uncomfortable when their daughter, especially an actress, performs intimate or kissing scenes on screen. Many heroines have often shared in interviews how their families set conditions before they entered films, asking them to avoid such scenes.

However, Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa recently revealed that her parents reacted very differently. Speaking about her initial hesitation to perform kissing scenes, Sonam said she maintained a “no-kiss” policy for a long time. But when she later discussed it with her parents, their reaction left her completely surprised.

Sonam shared that when she first entered the film industry, she avoided roles that required kissing or intimate scenes. She even turned down several Hindi films for that reason. “I used to wonder whether people from Punjab would accept me if I did such scenes. I worried about what the family audience would think, and most of all, how my parents would react,” she said.

Years later, when Sonam finally brought up the topic with her parents, their response shocked her. “They said, ‘It’s all part of acting. What’s the big deal?’ I was stunned because I had spent years worrying about something that didn’t even bother them,” she revealed.

Sonam Bajwa, who made her Telugu debut with Aatadukundam Raa opposite Sushanth and appeared in Babu Bangaram alongside Venkatesh, has also acted in several Tamil and Hindi films. She was last seen in Housefull 5 and is currently promoting her film Ek Deewani Ki Deewaniyat with Harshvardhan Rane, where she opened up about this personal experience.
