After RRR captured global attention and went on to win an Oscar for Naatu Naatu, many felt Baahubali too deserved international recognition. That long-awaited moment is finally here.

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda has confirmed that the World of Baahubali will move into Phase II. The first step in this phase is Baahubali: The Epic, a single recut version combining both parts of the original films. The theatrical release also featured a teaser for Baahubali: The Eternal War, an upcoming animated project from the franchise.

The teaser, which was later released online, went viral, not just in India but more prominently overseas. Global audiences and animation enthusiasts have been appreciating the visuals and storytelling. The response surprised many, given that India has rarely produced animated films on such a large scale.

While Mahavatar Narsimha made some impact domestically, its reach was limited. In contrast, Baahubali: The Eternal War is drawing reactions from thousands of viewers worldwide. This could well mark the start of a strong run for Indian animation in the global space.

Baahubali: The Eternal War is directed by award-winning filmmaker Ishan Shukla. The film is presented by SS Rajamouli and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni. The story is written by Ishan Shukla and Sowmya Sharma, with music by M.M. Keeravaani.

The voice cast features Prabhas as Amarendra Baahubali and Ramya Krishna as Sivagami. With the kind of international response it has received already, Baahubali: The Eternal War could be the project that takes Indian animation to the global stage.
