Starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu Sana with music by AR Rahman. The team dropped their first single Chikiri Chikiri recently, and it opened to record-breaking numbers on all platforms. The peppy vibe and catchy tune have already made it a chartbuster.
Interestingly, the makers released the song five months before the film’s release, a rare and risky move in today’s times. It’s a smart gamble though. If the song clicks, it stays alive till the release and keeps the hype going. That’s exactly what’s happening now.
The next update from the film is around the corner. The makers are reportedly planning to drop the second song for New Year’s. While Chikiri Chikiri was a playful romantic track featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the upcoming one is said to be Charan’s theme song, something on the mass side.
Buchi Babu seems to be repeating a tried-and-tested formula here. His debut film’s release was delayed due to the pandemic, but its songs became huge hits and helped the movie create massive buzz by the time it hit screens. That accidental success story now looks like a well-planned promotional strategy for Peddi.
The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma in key roles. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas in association with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Peddi is slated for a grand theatrical release on March 27, 2026.
