SS Rajamouli initially planned to present a film based on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke, rather than direct it himself. The movie was set to be directed by Nitin Kakkar, with NTR being considered for the titular role. While reports about the film being shelved have surfaced, there is no clear confirmation regarding its current status.

Now, another film on the same concept, in the combination of Aamir Khan and Raj Kumar Hirani, is also reportedly getting shelved.

The family of Phalke is in favour of Hirani’s project, and they are happy to see the project shaping while they raised objections over Rajamouli’s vision. But now, due to the script issues, the project has reportedly got shelved.

“Aamir felt that the script is too dry for the audience in today’s world, and doesn’t have the humour that one expects from their collaboration. After repeated sessions of rewrite, the duo has collectively decided to put the project on hold,” says a news report from Bollywood.

Aamir Khan and Hirani are known for their perfection. Be it 3 Idiots or their other collaborations, the duo always ensured top notch entertainment to the audiences. Now that the new projecti is also getting shelved, we have to see if any other filmmaker makes an attempt on the same.
