The majority of the film industries in India are struggling to pull the audience into theatres in 2025. There is a serious lack of good & event films, especially from the big stars across most of the film industries. The exhibitors in both the Telugu states and in Tamilnadu are particularly finding it very difficult to run theatres due to the lack of audience. Especially in Telugu states, most of the single screens are not even screening shows on a majority of weekdays. Only a very few films(i.e. Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Kuberaa, HIT: The Third Case, Thandel, Mad Square, Court) were able to successfully able to pull the audience to theatres even after the first weekend. Barring the Malayalam film industry with two industry hits(i.e. L2: Empuraan(world wide) and Thudarum(Kerala)) and Hindi films industry with multiple hit films(i.e. Chhaava, Saiyaara, Sitaare Zameen Par, Raid 2, Housefull 5, Kesari Chapter 2, Metro… In Dino, Jaat), almost all film industries going through a crisis in this year.
At a time when exhibitors desperately looking for movies which can pull the audience into theatres, Hollywood films this year in India used the vacuum very to their advantage. A total of around ₹700 Crores was collected by all the Hollywood films that were released in India so far this year. Out of all the films, a total of three films collected a gross of more than ₹100 Crores. At least ten to twelve films were able to grab the attention of the audience and were able to pull them to the theatres. The multiplexes across the country benefited with the resurgence of Hollywood films to keep the screens filled with patrons, especially during the weekends.

Utilising the advantage of the last instalment in the biggest action film franchise, Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ was expected to do well and as expected, it collected more than a hundred crores at the Indian box-office. ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ was also expected to do well because of the franchise popularity but it exceeded all the expectations and collected a gross of ₹121 Crores and is still running in a good number of multiplexes across the country. The sports action drama took the trade pundits by surprise by registering excellent numbers at the box-office. With around seven hundred crores gross already by the end of July, there is a very good chance for the Hollywood films to collect a cumulative gross of over thousand crores In India in 2025. James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, which is scheduled to release in theatres on 19th of December is expected to take a monstrous opening and is likely to collect a gross of over two hundred crores. Also, the sixth installment in the Anaconda film series is releasing in theatres on 25th December. The franchise has a good following in India and the film is expected to do very well at the box-office. Avatar: Fire and Ash, Anaconda and a few more keenly awaited Hollywood films in the remaining five months of the year are sure to set the box-office ringing and make 2025, a memorable film for Hollywood films in India with a cumulative gross of over thousand crores.
