It has been a while since Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju (RRR) spoke about YS Jagan. After the historic win in the 2024 election, RRR had been focusing all his energies on the development of his Undi constituency and offering constructive analysis of the incumbent NDA government.

However, RRR is now back in action, taking sharp aim at Jagan with his sarcastic remarks regarding the YCP chief’s recent comments on “arrests.”

Jagan recently stated, “Arresting a person is nothing but shredding their dignity. Chandrababu is doing this to YCP leaders, and he will pay the price soon.”

This comment backfired spectacularly, given Jagan’s own track record—most notably, the 2023 arrest of senior leader and veteran CM Chandrababu Naidu. RRR seized the opportunity to expose the double standards, citing his own example in the process.

“Jagan and his ecosystem are suddenly concerned about the arrest of their MP. But where was this concern when I was targeted ? I was illegally arrested without any prior notice or legal basis. Where was this so-called dignity that Jagan is proudly speaking of now? I was tortured and physically abused in jail, and yet Jagan didn’t show an ounce of compassion,” RRR said.

He further added that the NDA government is strictly following legal protocols while arresting culprits. “We have been giving enough time and notices to prepare for legal proceedings. But Jagan’s government arrested us without any notice. Let the people decide who is showing real dignity and compassion here.”

RRR’s pointed counter, using his own ordeal as evidence, struck hard at Jagan’s recent statement. His core message was clear: when RRR and Chandrababu were arrested, Jagan didn’t think twice about dignity or compassion. But now, when someone like Mithun Reddy is arrested, Jagan is suddenly concerned about standards and decency.
