As we had reported earlier in the day today, Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan visited the in famous Rushikonda Palace in Vizag. This is more of an assessment tour to potentially dictate what’s to be done with this super lavish construction that has no real purpose.

During this official visit of the deputy chief minister, something shocking had happened at the palace as the ceiling planks collapsed while the DCM was inside the premises.

Incidentally, deputy chief minister Kalyan was walking around the palace when he noticed that a plank from the ceiling had collapsed right next to the seating arrangement that was made inside the premises. A pretty big piece of the ceiling fell on the floor, and there is evident water leakage in the area as well.

Kalyan appeared to be shocked by the kind of poor construction that went into the Rushikonda palace that costed the state nearly ₹500 crore. A concerned Kalyan then called minister Nadendla Manohar to explain the situation and he too appeared to be shocked by it.

On one hand, this Palace already costed ₹500 crores to Andhra Pradesh finances, and on top of that, the maintenance is costing several lakhs every month. And now to make matters worse, the palace appears to be losing constructional integrity as big chunks are falling apart.
