One of the principal detrimental factors that worked against previous Jagan administration in Andhra Pradesh is the constant spike in electricity charges. In fact, the previous government spiked up the charges a whopping 11 times due to true down mismanagement.
However, for the first time in several years, Andhra Pradesh is going to witness a decrease in power charges and this will be coming to effect from this November itself.
Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu communicated that a crucial step has been taken to benefit electricity consumers in the state. For the first time in the many years, the government is reducing the burden of electricity charges through true down.
I am pleased to say that with this decision, electricity charges will decrease in the state starting from November. This achievement has been possible due to the positive results from the efficient management of electricity systems over 15 months, Chandrababu said on this matter.
Through the power swapping policy with other states, the Andhra Pradesh government put a check on the practice of purchasing electricity at high rates during peak demand times. This essentially meant that the power purchase prices also went down gradually.
Through efficient measures, the Andhra Pradesh government has been able to achieve a decremental spiral on power consumption. This is now directly beneficial to the people of Andhra Pradesh as power charges will go down marginally from November.
