The highly infamous Karur stampede incident involving Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s TVK party which sadly claimed 41 lives is the most discussed topic in Tamil Nadu politics. Shortly after this devastating incident, multiple cases were filed against Vijay and his party leadership.
Subsequently, TVK District secretary, Satish Kumar had approached the Madras High Court for an anticipatory bail in this case.
However, High Court Justice Senthil Kumar had dismissed this petition as he turned down the request from the TVK general secretary for anticipatory bail in this Karur stampede case.
The judge pointed out that the party leadership and local workers displayed unruly behaviour which had a crucial role to play in this devastating stampede incident. It was made very clear that the facts of the case are consolidated and there’s no escaping legal challenges for those involved.
This could be considered as a major road block to TVK as the party leadership could face serious consequences at the court in connection with this horrifying incident. On one hand, this shocking incident has already dented the public image of Vijay and now, the legal consequences are also looking imminent.
