The twin Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are observing a peculiar political development as Kavitha and Sharmila have deferred from their previous political affiliations and are now waging individual battles.
In this context, there is another intriguing similarity between the two of them. It has something to do with the political entry of the sons of these two politically gifted ladies.
Incidentally, an unexpected event was observed in Hyderabad today when the 23 year old son of Kavitha, Aditya took to the streets to partake in the protests in support of 42% BC reservation.
This youngster was seen wearing a black T-shirt and holding a placard in his hand while taking to the streets to protest. “BCs must get 42% reservation. It can’t be just my mother fighting, everyone must come out and join the struggle.” He said on this matter.
On the other hand, we have the son of YS Sharmila, Raja Reddy who is also taking a similar political approach. He too was seen alongside his mother in Kurnool a couple of weeks back as he took part in a protest in support of onion farmers.
It is interesting to note that both Kavita and Sharmila appear to be sharing the same ideology when it comes to introducing their young sons into politics at a young age. The pattern is very clear here.
Considering the fact that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana politics are largely driven by men, Sharmila and Kavitha appear to be of the understanding that in introducing their sons at an young age would give them natural advantage, an analyst said.
