Andhra Pradesh police have uncovered yet another drug-related case with links to individuals associated with the YSRCP student wing. The Eagle Team and City Task Force jointly detained a man named Charan, who was traveling from Bengaluru to Visakhapatnam on the Duronto Express. During the search, officers seized 36 LSD strips from his possession.
During interrogation, Charan allegedly confessed that the drugs were meant for YSRCP student wing leader Konda Reddy. Based on his statement, police also took Konda Reddy into custody for further questioning.
The incident has once again brought the state’s growing drug problem into focus. Officials have reiterated that strict action will be taken against all those involved, irrespective of their background or connections.
The TDP and Janasena has long criticized the previous YSRCP government for the rise of drug culture in Andhra Pradesh. Since forming the new NDA government, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan have instructed the police and public to work together to completely eliminate drug abuse from the state.
Despite continuous awareness drives and enforcement measures, cases like this show that the battle against drugs is still ongoing. The government aims to send a clear message that there will be zero tolerance toward anyone involved in drug trafficking or consumption.
