Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu announced a grand reward for Indian women cricketer Sri Charani, who was part of the team that recently won the Women’s World Cup. Hailing from Kadapa district, Sri Charani made her mark with her outstanding performance in the World Cup final and has now become a proud representative of Andhra Pradesh on the global stage.
During her visit to Andhra Pradesh, Sri Charani met CM Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh. Congratulating her for her achievement, the Chief Minister announced a cash reward of ₹2.5 crore.
In addition, after learning that she did not own a house, Chandrababu immediately instructed the Kadapa District Collector to allocate a residential plot for her. To top it off, he also offered her a Deputy Collector post under the Group-1 category as a government job.
The Chief Minister encouraged her to continue focusing on cricket and bring more glory to the state and the nation. He also mentioned that players like P. V. Sindhu and Sri Charani are raising India’s reputation globally through their dedication and success.
Sri Charani expressed her gratitude to the government and said her main focus will always remain cricket, as she aims to achieve even more milestones in the future.
